The laureates of the Human Rights Community Award for 2023 have been announced. The awarding ceremony took place on December 10th in Vilnius. There are two political prisoners among the laureates in four categories, reports "Viasna".

In the nomination "Human Rights Defender of the Year-2023" there are two winners this year: deputy chairman of the Belarusian Association of Journalists Aleh Ageyeu and lawyer Natalia Matskevich.
The winner in the nomination "Journalist of the Year-2023" was political prisoner Aliaksandr Mantsevich.
In the nomination "Human Rights Campaign/Initiative of the Year-2023" the winner was the evacuation service "BYSOL".
Political prisoner Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk became the winner in the new nomination "Human Rights Solidarity of the Year-2023".
We remind you that Palina is a social and trade union activist from Brest, detained on January 3, 2021. The mother of two minor sons was convicted under a number of articles of the Criminal Code. At the end of February 2022, a criminal case under part 2 of Article 411 of the Criminal Code was brought against the political prisoner, and then sentenced to another year of imprisonment.
