Another international organisation has joined the joint statement on the systemic human rights crisis in the labour sphere in Belarus — the Human Rights House Foundation. This means that international support for the document, previously issued by Belarusian and international human rights organisations, independent trade unions, and civic initiatives, continues to grow.

Earlier, the statement was also joined by the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) within the framework of the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders — a joint programme aimed at protecting human rights defenders. The addition of further international organisations shows that the situation of human rights and labour rights in Belarus remains the subject of broad international attention.
It should be recalled that on 25 May, Belarusian and international human rights organisations, independent trade unions, and civic initiatives adopted a joint statement on the systemic human rights crisis in the labour sphere in Belarus. The document addresses the liquidation of independent trade unions, the persecution of trade union leaders and activists, the use of forced labour, discrimination, and the destruction of freedom of association as part of state policy.
