The defendant in the Rabochy Rukh case was transferred to prison regime

Vladimir Zhurauka is a former operator of the remote control panel of the Amiak-3 shop of Grodno Azot OJSC and a member of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union.



He was detained on September 18, 2021 and charged under Article 356 of the Criminal Code (treason against the state), Article 188 of the Criminal Code (slander) and Part 3 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code (creation of an extremist formation or participation in it). In February, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.


Zhurauka was sent to Babruysk colony.


According to MAYDAY TEAM, on November 16, a trial was held in Babruysk to replace Uladzimir's custody regime. Judge Pavel Kartinin decided to transfer the political prisoner to prison. He will serve his sentence in Mahiliou prison № 4.

Recall, this year, political prisoner and leader of the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions (BKDP) Aliaksandr Yarashuk was also transferred to Mahiliou prison № 4. In total, there are about 50 trade union activists in prisons in Belarus.
