On March 12-13, a meeting of the Youth Committee of the Pan-European Regional Council took place. The BKDP was represented by Yauheni Dzenisenka.

Union youth from Serbia, Albania, Belarus, the Netherlands and Norway discussed the regional trade union agenda for 2026. Participants were welcomed by PERC Executive Secretary Anton Leppik, who presented the work plan for this year. Particular attention was given to the regional mandate of PERC in the preparation of the ITUC Congress in 2027, which will take place in Vienna, Austria. He highlighted the role of the Youth Committee in this process, which is strengthened by its statutory mandate.

Todd Borgan, Director of Campaign and Organizing at the ITUC, spoke about the key priorities of the ITUC and ongoing global campaigns. The For Democracy Campaign aims to consolidate workers around the trade union vision for democracy. It focuses on three levels of democracy: democracy at work, democracy in society and democracy at a global level.

This year should mark a historic decision by the International Labour Conference to adopt a Convention guaranteeing the fundamental rights of platform workers. The ITUC‘s platform workers campaign has significantly contributed to this achievement.

The PERC Youth Committee remains an important platform for exchange and regional cooperation among young trade unionists across the region. Its active work aligns with one of the ITUC’s key priorities of fostering youth engagement in the trade union movement.
