Mass arrests of former activists of the independent trade union took place in Navapolatsk

The names of detained employees of the Palimir plant became known. According to the information, spread through the telegram channel @naftanFREE, the detainees were former activists and members of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union (BNP).

The detentions took place on September 6 on the territory of Naftan factory Palimir. The power structures carried out mass detentions in the design and construction service of the plant. It is known that the list of detainees also includes employees of other departments.

According to the data published in the Telegram channel @naftanFREE, at least 10 employees, including three women and seven men, were taken to the Navapolatsk Isolation Center. The names of eight employees are known:

According to the information obtained from the analysis of court decisions, the reason for the detentions of Palimir employees was their subscriptions to "extremist" media on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, VK and YouTube. The future fate of these detainees remains in question.


Over the past few months, mass detentions have been taking place at companies across the country in Belarus of employees who have been found to be disloyal to the current regime in the country.
