Representatives of Salidarnast Took Part in a Meeting of the Belarusian Diaspora in Germany

On 13–15 February 2026, the Belarusian diaspora gathering “Workshop of the Future” took place in Germany, bringing together representatives of various initiatives and sectors, including human rights organizations, media, cultural initiatives, IT communities, and trade unions. Salidarnast e.V. was represented at the event by Maryia Taradzetskaya and Sviatlana Ushchapouskaya.

The aim of Salidarnast’s participation was to present the organization’s activities, strengthen its visibility within the diaspora, and build working contacts with other initiatives. Within the framework of working groups, participants discussed key areas such as human rights and political prisoners, media and culture, as well as issues of integration and legalisation.

According to Maryia Taradzetskaya, the uniqueness of the meeting lay in the wide range of represented sectors:

“It was an opportunity to align our agendas, understand where our work intersects, and see the potential for consolidation. We shared our experience and the specifics of our activities, and we were inspired by the fact that there are many of us — with energy, solidarity, and a willingness to act.”

The program included phases of problem analysis, envisioning a desired future, and a project workshop focused on developing concrete initiatives. As a result, several ideas for joint projects emerged, some of which may be implemented in the near future. In particular, cooperation with the human rights organization Libereco on the legalisation of political refugees was discussed, as well as collaboration with the Belarusian FemGroup on gender equality and human rights issues.

Participation in the “Workshop of the Future” marked an important step toward strengthening horizontal connections within the diaspora and enhancing coordination of efforts to support democratic initiatives and defend the rights of Belarusians in exile.
